Kulturrummet in Helsingborg: A Creative Space in the Heart of Söder
Right in the middle of Söder, you’ll find Kulturrummet — a creative hub and cultural space that’s open to artists, organisers, young people, and anyone curious about making or sharing something together.
It’s not a gallery or a school or a company. It’s a bit of all three — and it’s shaped by the people who use it.
What is Kulturrummet?
Kulturrummet is a cultural and community space where creative people, local organisations, and young residents come together to learn, build, and create. It’s based at Södergatan 101, just a short walk from the main square in Söder.
The project was started by local creatives and organisers who wanted to build a space that supports culture with the neighborhood, not just for it. The space hosts exhibitions, performances, study circles, workshops, pop-ups, residencies, and more — in both Swedish and English.
What happens there?
There’s always something going on at Kulturrummet. A few examples:
Creative Business Nights: low-key networking evenings for local makers and entrepreneurs
Art Exhibitions & Residencies: space for early-career and local artists to show and grow their work
Community Projects: climate-themed programs, youth collaborations, storytelling, and more
Workshops & Courses: skill-building in everything from project design to screen printing
Open Calls: opportunities to get involved, show your work, or lead something of your own

Who is it for?
Kulturrummet is for anyone who wants to connect, collaborate, or try something new — especially if you’re involved in creative, cultural, or community work.
You don’t need to be a professional artist or speak perfect Swedish to get involved. If you’re curious, they’re open.
They work a lot with:
Young adults (16–30)
Local associations and cultural workers
People with ideas or projects in progress
Residents in the Söder area — and anyone who wants to work locally in Helsingborg
How do I join or take part?
You can get involved in a few different ways:
Become a member (free): You’ll get updates and invitations, and be part of the network
Apply to an open call: For artists, organisers, and creatives looking for a space or platform
Book the space: You can host a workshop, study circle, or community event
Drop by an event: Most things are free or low-cost — just check the calendar
