Nyby - Mobile App Launched to Connect and Help People

Updated: Apr 15, 2020

Helsingborg Stad just launched Nyby, a mobile application to connect people digitally and help each other out. The app which is free to download is available for both Android and iOS. Nyby comes from Norway where it is being used widely by municipalities during the Corona crisis.

And what's the best way to post about it? To try it out. The sign up process is very simple (And in English). Here are some screenshots to show you what it looks like -

Once you register your account you can join groups depending on which areas you live in, or want to help out in/need help in. Once that is done, you can start adding questions or requests or answering other people's questions. (The entire flow of the app is explained in English, so you won't get lost in there!)

Since the app has just been launched today, you might find a few questions in Swedish, but if you feel like answering in English or posting in English, feel free to do so. Also, remember to read through the rules. You can support people by shopping for them and leaving it outside their door during this crisis, but ensure for your own and everyone else's safety that you take necessary precautions when you volunteer. You will find all this information on the app by the moderators.

If you have any questions about the app, or about how to help anyone during this period, contact the Volunteer Center at 042-10 50 00 or on chat.
